The XPLORER adventure was born from the friendship and shared passion of two men: Zizo, the Egyptian at the heart of the Red Sea, and Eric, the Frenchman in love with Egypt. Their dream was simple yet ambitious: to create unique cruise experiences, blending Egypt’s legendary hospitality with international quality standards.
The Beginnings of a Success Story (2012-2013)
It all started in 2012 with the acquisition of their first boat, proudly christened Okeanos XPLORER. This inaugural vessel was an immediate success, laying the foundations of their reputation through its innovative mini-cruises in the Deep South. Buoyed by this momentum, Zizo and Eric acquired VITA XPLORER a year later, establishing their brand as an emerging reference in the maritime landscape.
The Emergence of a New Talent
In 2018, as they planned their most ambitious project, a dynamic young Dive Master named Andrew joined them. His talent and passion quickly propelled him up the ranks. Starting as a team member, he became an indispensable pillar, ultimately establishing himself as a full partner and the company’s General Director.
The Excellence Project: ARGO XPLORER
Launched in 2018, this project aimed to build the boat of their dreams: ARGO XPLORER. The goal was to design a vessel incorporating all client feedback to deliver a perfect experience. Despite delays caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, their perseverance paid off. The jewel of the fleet, ARGO XPLORER, was proudly completed in September 2023, embodying the culmination of their vision.
Turning the Pages: Transition and Tribute
In 2022, a new chapter opened with the sale of the faithful Okeanos XPLORER, the boat that sparked this remarkable adventure. This milestone symbolized evolution and a forward-looking gaze.
It is with profound sadness that in 2024, we bid farewell to Eric, our beloved co-founder. His vision, spirit, and love for Egypt remain the indelible soul of XPLORER.
Today and for the Future
Today, XPLORER is more than a maritime company; it is a human legacy. Built on the foundation laid by Zizo and Eric, and now steered daily by the partnership of Zizo and Andrew, the team continues its mission with the same passion.

Eric was not only a founding part of our journey but also a beloved colleague, mentor, and friend. His passion, dedication, and spirit continue to inspire everything we do. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in our team, our values, and the experiences we create every day. We miss him dearly and are proud to carry his vision forward.
