Dolphin and Shark Cruise: Discovering the Underwater Treasures of the Southern Red Sea

Suitable for all diving levels, this cruise will take you to spectacular reefs, where you’ll encounter long-beaked dolphins and observe sharks in their natural habitat. Whether you’re a passionate diver or simply curious, this cruise promises unforgettable experiences.

Itinerary: Magical Dives Among Sharks, Dolphins, and Reefs

Day 1: Sunday – Departure and Dive Introduction
Depart from Port Ghalib for an acclimatization day. This warm-up dive will allow divers to familiarize themselves with local conditions gently and safely while enjoying the surrounding underwater marvels.

Day 2: Monday – Daedalus
In the morning, head to Daedalus, a massive circular reef located 100 miles south of the Brothers Islands. This site is home to exceptional marine life: sharks, schools of hammerheads, manta rays, barracudas, and much more. A dawn dive on the northern part of the reef offers spectacular encounters with large marine species. You can also explore the reef’s lighthouse, which provides a unique panoramic view. The western area is perfect for snorkeling among sea anemones and clownfish.

Day 3: Tuesday – Daedalus (Sharks)
Return to Daedalus for an even deeper immersion into the world of sharks. Take in the majesty of this site as you observe hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, and other marine predators that inhabit these impressive waters.

Day 4: Wednesday – Fury Shoal and Sataya (Dolphins)
In the morning, depart for Fury Shoal. You’ll dive at Maksour Plateau, with its soft corals and sea turtles—an ideal spot for exploring pinnacles teeming with marine life. Next, head to Sataya, a massive reef stretching over 2 kilometers. Here, you’ll meet a pod of long-beaked dolphins, with magical snorkeling moments awaiting. The dive concludes in a shallow coral garden, rich in fish and Napoleon wrasses. After this adventure, we’ll spend the night at Wadi Gimal.

Day 5: Thursday – Wadi Gimal and Sha’ab Sharm
Wadi Gimal is a protected reef known for its stunning underwater landscapes. Rich in soft and hard corals, as well as marine life (turtles, trevallies, tuna), it offers an easy yet spectacular dive. Then, set sail for Sha’ab Sharm, a mountain reef where you’ll encounter schools of barracudas, whitetip reef sharks, and tuna while exploring beautiful coral tables. This dive is perfect for observing the diverse marine life of the Red Sea.

Day 6: Friday – Elphinstone, the Grand Finale of the Cruise
On the final day, head to Elphinstone Reef, one of the most famous in the Red Sea. This site features two plateaus (north and south) where you can spot hammerhead sharks, stunning schools of barracudas, and trevallies. Exploring the deep southern waters of Elphinstone may reveal oceanic whitetips in crystal-clear waters—sometimes even visible from the boat. A spectacular dive that will stay etched in your memory. Return to Marsa Alam in the early afternoon for a final evening ashore.

A Night in Marsa Alam

After diving at Elphinstone, we’ll head to Marsa Alam, where you’ll spend the night. Departure will be after breakfast on Saturday morning.
